After much cogitation, NUFC Blog member, ‘Beye the Great’, has chosen his new nickname from the entries submitted to our competition over the last week.
The winner is:
(Drumroll)
‘Summer of 69′
This was suggested by Bowburn Mag, who will be able to select one of the nominated prizes from the NUFC Blog shop.
Many thanks to all those who entered.

How convenient lol!
Only messing,.
Nice name
Dooce – what can I say? All is fair in love and war and rigged blog competitions
It’s a good name
And a decent prize too.
All ready for the Wed game tonight?
What’s it going to be then, Bowburn?
If you don’t like any of the other things, there’s a high quality Alan Shearer mug, or a 10×8″ photo of Bobby Moncur in the ’74 FA Cup semi final to choose from too.
Don’t call me a mug!
Dooce – I’ve actually got a game myself tonight which starts at 7.30 so will be tuning asap once that’s finished. Looking forward to a 1-0 win!
Soz worky, forgot to add I’ll have a think!
Poor choice that like…
Sore loser!

“Who’s showing it live?”
I don’t think anyone’s showing it live, Doocey.
Is he a Bryan Adams fan like?
rodz i am a bryan adams fan i choose that name coz it combined a great song with a great moment (when we won the fairs cup in the summer of 69)
I have fond memories of my own “Summer of 69″. It was in the early eighties and involved two absolutely filthy nurses.
summerof69, that’s a result then!
Everyone’s a winner.
…worky, was that when it cost you “five-and-dime” and you “Played ’til your fingers bled”?
What a fix!
