Thanks Jill, I read that the Uraguyan tax man was after Casal for over $100 million in three stories! He is Nacho’s agent, he’s the agent of virtually every player in Uruguay by all accounts. Of course, you’re right that he doesn’t seem to be a very popular character over there. One blogger described his hold on Uruguayan football as “Hitler-esque”.

I’m having more difficulty with the Brazilian side of things and ADM Esporte, the company who marketed Gonzalez on YouTube. The remnants of my Spanish are still ok, but my knowledge of Portuguese is zero so chasing up the Brazilian side is harder. Auto translate just comes up with garbage sometimes so it’s best to understand fully what you are reading. ADM’s website is still ‘under construction’ too.

In a report in the Times of 29 January 2008, which Mr Charnley confirmed as having been accurate, it was stated that “Wise and Vetere will make the initial assessment before calling in Jimenez to do the deal, though Newcastle insist that Keegan will have the final say”.
Two days later, on 31 January 2008, Mr Wise gave an interview in the Chairman’s office at the Club which was intended to be and was published on the Club’s website (and reported in the national Press) on the following day.
In the course of that interview he stated: “I’m not here to be involved in the first team. I am not here to manage. I am here to help Kevin as much as possible in bringing young players through and also recommending certain players to him and he’ll say yes and no.
“He has the final word and then no one else. I’m not gonna do things like bring players in behind his back. I’m not into that and everything that happens will be run past him and he’ll say yes, as I say, or he’ll say no”.
24. Two days later, in the Club programme for 3 February 2008, the website interview was included with the headline: “Dennis Wise “I’m here to help Kevin – he has the final word”"

On 23 February 2008, Mr Mort gave an interview with “The Mag” (published independently by the Club’s supporters) in which he stated: “Everything that sits below Kevin, everything associated with the first team is his responsibility … Dennis and Jeff will help identify players and Kevin will then say yes or no”.

So “the club” (Ashley and his cronies) admitted they lied to the fans on a number of occasions, and further, the Tribunal seem to be suggesting (“we found this explanation to be profoundly unsatisfactory”) they think the club was also lying to them in their explanation of motives.

And this is the regime you are supporting?

Whats your view on your hero as it is now apparent the 25million law suit was a barrier to sale and progress, not to mention summer transfers?

Do you think his actions are culpable from that point of view – or do you support the damage he has done come what may?

I’ve never posted on this site before and rarely on the other, though this site seems less populated by tossers and browser hijack adverts.

I personally don’t think Keegan has damaged the club in any way with his proceedings.

There is no history to suggest we would have bought anyone in the transfer windows judging by past spending and complete ignorance of the unbalanced squad we have had for years now.

I also believe that the 25 million figure that Keegan was after was just to guarantee himself a couple of million which is what he got. I also think Keegan only wanted to clear his name and give the fans a reason for his resignation. He was totally within his rights to expose what has been happening at the club, and I am disgusted at the whole dodgy agent youtube scenario.

As for this whole affair holding up the sale – it doesn’t bother me. I’m glad Mike Ashley has been shown to be a liar (again) and not capable of running a football club. I hope his career and reputation is destroyed in the same way he has destroyed my beloved NUFC.

I’d also like to say that Chris Hughton is a total legend for what he has achieved whilst at the helm, and I hope he remains at the club when or if the takeover ever happens.
