He made us sing and he made us dance
“When I signed for Newcastle I didn’t know the English mentality, I didn’t know about the English tradition and I came straight away to the North East – and its one part of the world that is even different from the rest of England,” said Ginola.
“My main concern was to see the involvement of the players in the club. When you wear that zebra shirt, it’s a whole tradition behind you.
“Even if you’re French and you’ve just arrived, you need to know what’s going on. The Geordies are not the same as the Brummies, or the Cockneys, it’s a proper mentality and you need to know what goes on in the city before you wear that shirt – you have a lot of responsibility.”
Anyway, no sense in transcribing the whole interview here. You can read it on Sky Sports.
NUFC News 24/7

you see, he’s french and even he gets it, NUFC is steeped in tradition
Ashley et al could learn a lot reading his interview!!
I agree Danny, unfortunately Ashley and his toss pot brigade don’t really care. All they want is money, and they dont care what they do to get it.
“you have a lot of responsibility”
That’s what Ashely didn’t consider when he took over.
Friend of mine phoned Sunday, in a blind panic.
“How do I withdraw an ebay bid” he asked, his voice shaking.
“I’m bidding on a mickey mouse outfit and realised I’m five minutes away from winning Sunderland!”

That would have been funny 4 years ago – Now it’s just ironic!

And yet possibly not as good as this –

the only frenchman whose not an ass hole
Anyone see that Clarke, the West Ham assistant manager’s comments?
“He’s just recovered from a triple fracture to the cheekbone… He was pushed by Kenwyne Jones, who’s a big boy… We don’t speak about other team’s players… If you want to talk about other player’s teams I find it incredible that the Sunderland captain didn’t get sent off”.
So he clearly upheld the whole moral obligation to not talk about other team’s players. “But he did it first!…” yeah, and eye for an eye and all that… Don’t be so childish mate, you’re a grown bloke in proffessional football and sound like a wound up immature kid.
Also I love the fact at not ONE point did he say he was pushed in the face, or justified Illunga receiving treatment to the eye/face. The reporter should have had more balls and just said “In your opinion, was Illunga pushed in the face, making the reaction justifiable?”.
But of course that sort of a question is way too direct for the person to skirt his way around with lies.
If The Serious Fraud Office convict Ashley is he still a “Fit and proper person” to run a football club. Should we achieve promotion to the Premiership, and said conviction materialises, this question needs to be answered!

First of many new partnerships?
Ginola was the greatest. I love him. Let him tell our current players. Let me CH can learn the tradition and fast.
But I hear CH is an intelligent Fella.
