A visit from Spiderman on Saturday?
Speaking on his last goal, a superb, world class effort against mighty Peterborough, the pony tailed dribble king told the club’s official website:
“That goal took a long time to come but it was special; not only because it was a good goal but because it was at St James’s Park in front of our wor fans like”
On the reasons for not wearing it on that occaision, he said:
“I spoke at the time about my reasons for not wearing my mask, but if I score again I will hopefully use it.”
On his otherwise less than prodigious record in front of goal he added:
“I need to score more goals and I want to score more goals.”
Looking forward to Newcastle United’s next game, a home clash agaist Swansea City, he concluded:
“Next up is another home game that we must win. It’s important we try to get the same start as we did at Peterborough when we were two up after twenty minutes.
“If I score one of those goals then great, but we have alot of good forward players who can score and that is why we are top.”
Although Guti has been strictly forbidden from morphing into a superhero in the Premiership, he has received no such sanction from the Football League.

love the paraphrasing worky, felt like he’s always lived in the shadow of the cathedral lol
even if he doesn’t/cant/forgot how to score then a few decent crosses into the box , say 3 or 4 per game is an absolute must.
otherwise he might as well sling his hook…

Danny Boy, I see him the same way as I used to see Nobby Solano, as our resident ‘Julio Geordio’.
I bet CH will find our of how to make him play well what I have realized with CH and Collin they are very good coaches and they know what to do well at the time.
lol
fair enough, he’s a good lad, but he’d struggle to fill wor nobby’s boots
I remember reading an article on him in the day called “the black & white beckham” – at the time high praise indeed!
Aye and unlike Nobby, Jonas doesn’t blow his own trumpet!
lmao at least it wasn’t somebody elses trumpet Lesh
“That goal took a long time to come but it was special; not only because it was a good goal”
Haha loved that bit…
… Seriously though I would not be arsed one bit if he never scored another goal for us… As long as he starts to dribble into effective positions and get some decent balls into the box!!
Anyway, I thought under FIFA or FA regulations he wasn’t allowed to wear the mask?
Danny-boy – LOL at 7
