Match highlights. I shall endeavour to update these with longer and better ones when they are available.

Newcastle United manager, Alan Pardew, hails his team’s “character”, “resilience”, “discipline” and team spirit. He also hails the performance of Birmingham ‘keeper, Ben Foster for keeping his side down to two goals.

Birmingham City mamager, Alex McLeish, hold’s his hands up over the Ameobi penalty, and seems resigned to Ridgewell’s sending off, but bemoans some other big decisions which went against Birmingham. He also hails Ben Foster’s excellent performnace in the Birmingham goal.

  1. Another great pen by Shola & an excellent bullet header by Saylor, who looks like he’s shed a few pounds (for the better).
Pity Colo & Saylor contrived to let them score like.
    But hey, onwards & upwards.

    Toon Toon.

    :)

  2. Phantastic! Target at start of the
    season, 17th. Today, 10th!
As you suggest CLiNT, the whining’s not far off.
What a set of fickle folk we are and I’d like to think that despite dubious presentatation at times, we recognise our erstwhile owner. Will the real Mike Ashley please stand up and take the fans’ applause.

  3. Well the job is done , we are a premiership club next season . Well done the team the management and staff , we have now achieved the targets set in the last 2 seasons promotion and then avoiding the drop . Now to strengthen the squad and kick on next season HWTL

  4. It’s over. The sky is falling. We’re not safe enough. Cashley will sell of our players… uh… uh… the Mackems won today. Sorry, Clint, that’s all I got the noo. Let’s just finish strongly rackup a wee bit more telly money and start preparing for next season.

  5. well seb larsson did himself a favour if he wanted to sign for newcastle and scored :) also getting on the bad books with shola oh dear

  6. Yeah were safe and everyone should be ecstatic, zat it ?
It was another shit game played by two shit teams and even playing against ten men it could have gone either way.
We took our foot off the gas when we should have run the score up.
    Joey had another good game,
Nolan missed a couple of sitters,
    Taylor showed improvement.
Enrique and Jonas had ok games.
    As did Colo.
What are we gonna do with Tiote ? guy did good for the most part, won balls, beginning to pick out his passes, etc. but was it necessary to collect another f***ing yellow card, what`s up with this guy ?
Simpson continues to expand his attacking role and looks decent defensively.
But Shola and Lovenkrands were an embarrassment, we need people who can put the ball in the net and Krul looked a bit shaky.
Rumors are our best players are being pursued by Spurs and Liverpool, err ! that would be Tiote who it`s rumored Arry wants for around eight million and of course Enrique who is wanted by Pool, who in turn are generously offering to throw in Konchesky plus cash.
Though going by to-days game they may not be so keen on Toro, who in fact seems to be easing off the gas lately.
Ermm Arry also wants to unload Palacios and is rumored to be kind enough to throw him in on the deal for Tiote.
Well now we can relax and really get into fantasizing as to who the brains trust that is NUFC, will deliver , in the way of re-enforcements, that should be interesting!

  7. I take Chuck’s point. We could have done so much more this season if we’d had a decent squad and we replaced AC with like for like. So sorry Lesh the Fatman will remain in the dock until we sign enough quality players for us to consider the top ten (minimum) as our rightful home and not the bottom six.
