Deep Throat says The Zog is keen on Toon return

N'Zogbia keen to rejoin Newcastle United.

Only left due to Kinnear

A source close to Charles N’Zogbia indicates that the player really wants to return to Newcastle United and only ever left because of Joe Kinnear.

According to The Star, Charles N’Zogbia is most certainly Newcastle-bound, which would seem to suit the voters on this particular blog. As our vote stands as I write this, 80% of readers want The Zog back at the Zoon, although only 33% would pay Wigan’s ‘special’, inflated £12m price for non-Champions League contenders.

The newspaper has sallied forth and hunted down a ‘source close to The Zog’, who had this to say:

Charles never really wanted to leave. It was Kinnear he fell out with, not Newcastle.

He has kept in touch with several of his former team-mates and told them he would love to go back.

And, according to Deep Throat, N’Zogbia is particularly keen to be reunited with assistant manager John Carver:

And while he has never worked for Alan Pardew, he knows his No.2 John Carver very well.

In fact, it was John who gave him his Premier League debut when he was caretaker-manager.

Finally, Nzogbia apparently loves Newcastle and thoroughly enjoyed his previous stint at the club. The source said:

He thoroughly enjoyed his time there, loves the city and would jump at the chance of pulling on the shirt again.

Allegedly we’re willing to offer him £55,000 a week and everyone will live happily ever after. So profound is the love affair between The Zog and The Toon that Liverpool have apparently turned their interests to Stewart Downing instead, accepting that N’Zogbia’s loyalties lie with our club.

There is no denying the 25 year-old midfielder’s current form with 10 goals from 38 games for Wigan last season.

Wigan Chairman Dave Whelan’s £9m-for-a-top-4-side-and-£12m-for-others ‘offer’ sounds a bit off to me but maybe there’s some room for negotiation if Pardew is still keen to bring N’Zogbia back to Newcastle.

Do you want The Zog back at Newcastle?

if you ask me it was a silly reason to leave in the first place.i think that it just dawned on him that next year he won’t be so lucky if he sticks around at wigan and so he’s waxing lyrical about the toon once more in a bid to get himself rescued.
whatever his motives,i just hope he doesn’t bring an inflated ego, after all he was the ‘star’ at wigan, and disrupt the team spirit we’ve built up.and now that you mention it,i don’t see why stewart downing doesn’t come back to the north, but his sights are set on a top team so thats wistful thinking.
umm,is that orange shirt Really our second strip?

Hmmm I thought it was because we wanted to leave for a club with ambition. thats why we were suprised it ended up being Wigan..

I’d still sign him tho, no loyality in footy so I dont give a shit about his love for the toon as long as he plays well.

The kid should be our no.1 summer transfer target!!!

He has lightening pace and abilitly to breeze past defenders. He mas come on leaps and bounds since leaving us and his ten goals and numerous assists last year put jonas to shame!

Welcome back with open arms charlie boy!!!!

Then look to bring in Shane Long.

    One target at a time.

It seems that at the moment we could see as many players OUT as IN, and I hoped it would be more like, say…2 players out, 5 or 6 IN.

I wonder how much Zog has improved since he left us? He does seem to have more cutting edge, though I always felt he wasn’t that canny at getting around defenders (more that he’d pass instead). In that respect Jonas is much better, though as everyone points out Jonas’ final delivery or shot is usually weak and Zog is superior in that. I like Jonas though.

Btw, I’,m confused about the transfer window! It starts on July 1st? But it seems agreements are already happening over transfers!
