  1. usual solid unbeaten 4-4-2 – can’t fault it, hope Guthrie keeps his form & good luck to Marveaux.
My main worries are Elliot & Perch as subs – we need better back up than these.
    3-0

  2. I think Everton are a tougher and better team than Stoke so it’ll be a harder game, 2-1 to us.

Just reading about Fergies 25 years at ManU and wondering what we might have won if we’d had him as manager during that time, you never know, in another time line!!

  3. Great goal by young Rtaylor!!!!! Hopefully cabaye isnt injured 4 too long, cant be missing quality like that in the middle of the park!!!

  4. Despite all the lad’s good work, I’m still stunned at how easy things seem to be for us in the Premiership at the moment. Everything just seems to be gannin’ our way ATM and I’m not used to it!

  5. There jus no containing the mighty toon latly bring on the top 3. Crnt believe hw easy things are at present, long may it continue, real contenders for 4th champ league spot i rekon. Would love t c us pick sum points up next 3 games.

  6. Easy easy easy? Disrespectful to Everton that. I think they’ve been the better side.

We have been 2nd best throughout this half. As Worky says, things certainly have gone our way. It’s a lot like the Wigan game.

  7. JIMBOB.. jus a excited fan tht is all. Am actualli sat at wrk with only radio doesnt sound as if everton beta team. Early goal t kill game me hopes

  8. Geordie Glen, no worries mate, keep up the excitement! It’s just not as plain sailing as the score reflected at the time.

  9. First half we were defo the better team!! Second half has been even, need another goal 2 kill them off tho!!! maybe sammy will pop up and get 1 for us!!

  11. Again, lady luck was on our side.
A fairly scrappy game with not much quality shown by either side.
We defended well once again, but lacked any real plan on offence, other than revert to the long ball.
A draw would have been a fair result, but i will take the three points, thank you very much Johnny H.
Great goal by Raylor, who though not one if my favorites has certainly come on and been an inspiration to the side.
Obviously Gosling needs match practice, would have liked to see Abeid get some time also.
Better not do too much wishing, i may get what i ask for, in injuries to our top players, hope Cabaye and Marveaux are not serious injuries as we have, as everyone knows, a tough schedule ahead of us.
Soh ! second place eh !
    Who’da thunk it ?

  12. Thought we were poor today, but a good 3 points to take us to second before Scum and Manure play.

Sammy’s touch was awful today – a few good runs and a good cross shows he has potential though.

Really quiet game from Jonas – looked a bit tired. Guthrie was excellent again today, as was the defence. Wasn’t impressed with Best, stupid fouls on every ball, lack of creativity. Would like to see HBA playing behind Ba.

  13. Only caught second half we looked shoddy-against better opposition we would have been hammered.
Pleased with the three points though.
If we play like this in the next three matches we will be picking up little or no points.

  14. Loving the abuse the scousers are giving Andy Carroll on talk sport.
He is a Judas…as well as a bricklayer and part time hod carrier.

  15. SJT,
i dunno why mate, that was a good point for them today at home to swansea, wasn’t it?
    ;)

  16. Yeah we looked like a tired side to-day, no where near the zip we showed against Stoke.
Thats the difference between us and the other sides near the top of the division, we are still a fairly small squad, i’m talking quality in depth.
While other clubs rotate their squads to a degree, certainly those involved in Europe and the cups, two or three injuries and we are stretching the bench.
Plus being forced to use all three subs, due to players running out of steam.
The side we ended up finishing with, using Gosling and Guthrie, certainly looked a bit dodgy and neither Sammy or HBA showed much in the way of defending.
As for what i hear constantly on here, “don’t change an unbeaten side” Ermm so nobody gets a rest, we use the same side all season long ?
No one gets to rest any minor injuries etc., well that’s just bulls**t, we have to use our small squad selectively, not wear them out.
Actually we need more bodies, that is, if we want this roll we are on to continue.

  17. Clint
On the contrary old chap, i’m more than happy we are winning, just a bit of constructive criticism, it’s allowed i assume ?

    Munchen
I assume the expletive was directed at myself ?
Could you be a bit more precise, “a load of bollocks”, is not exactly an explanation or an argument, is it ?

  18. Chucky@52…..

Why do you feel the need to defend yourself ?

I was actually referring to the referee, who blatantly missing a hand ball by Gosling in the second half.
