“This club will never fight again to be among the top 6 with this policy.” – Enrique

A scathing attack on Ashley by Enrique
A scathing attack on Ashley.
Like Joey Barton before him, it seems that Jose Enrique is using the social networking site Twitter to express his disdain at the club and appears to be finally acknowledging to the fans, and the club, that he wants a move – or at least a huge improvement in policy at NUFC.

Speaking on Twitter today, Jose Enrique indirectly lambasted the club’s owner Mike Ashley and the clubs transfer policy. Some of you may recall Pardew being unhappy with the Spaniard’s conduct on Twitter after announcing to fans he would not be taking part in the upcoming game against Spurs and his deletion of his Twitter account but it seems Jose has decided to reopen and this account has been confirmed by both Wayne Routledge and our fake account killer Danny Simpson.

Mike Ashley has been well known to be an admirer of the Arsenal model, bringing young players in cheap via extensive scouting networks and love of the French market which for a club that is recently promoted is a high risk, high payout gamble but if we get something wrong, we may very well be up the Tyne without a paddle. How are you getting on in the fantasy football?

It's fantasy football time!
It's fantasy football time!
If I could use one word to describe the last week or so since the real football stopped and international football took over , it would probably be – boring.

Never fear though, the real football is back this weekend, and that also signals the return of our fantasy football competition.

It’s fair to say that I am not doing too well so far, and I am currently languishing in around 300th place.

No matter, much like I do with my lovers, I start off slowly and build up to a frenetic finish! Smuttiness over, I have to make a decision. Jermaine Defoe is now out for 6 weeks, which leaves me with just Hugo Rodallega and Carlos Tevez to score the goals for me in his absence. Not good, and I may have to change things around a bit, but such is life in the world of football management eh? (more…)

Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough!
Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough!
I just thought I would take this chance to remind anyone who hasn’t already joined to come along and take part in our Fantasy Football League.

As things stand there are 183 teams signed up and ready to battle it out during the course of the season. Have you got what it takes to beat your fellow ‘bloggers? After all, we can all talk a good game so why not try and back that up?

Prizes will be up for grabs although they will be kept secret for the time being, but I would adjust your expectations if you’re looking to win a house, Ferrari, speedboat or anything like that!

The competition will be linked in with our Facebook group and Twitter page giving you more ways to keep on top of goings on, although obviously you’ll need to like us or follow us or whatever it is. You can also keep up to speed with the competition here at NUFCBlog.org. To get involved you’ll need to follow these simple instructions. (more…)

As time goes by…

Time is running out.
Time is running out.
Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock, goes the sound of transfer window clock.

Yet whilst the time ticks on, Newcastle don’t, well not in the transfer market anyway. Sure we have signed James Perch and Dan Gosling, but the latter would not have been a pre-planned exercise as nobody thought he would be available, especially on a free transfer.

So just what is the hold up? I was under the impression that with us sealing promotion early-doors that we would be able to steal a march on our rivals in the transfer market.

It seems not, and with only 35 (guesswork) days of the window remaining perhaps now is the time when Newcastle should actually begin to try and make some proper tracks with the recruitment drive. We are desperately short of numbers in some key areas, and they will need addressing if we are to be fully prepared for long and arduous season ahead. (more…)

Community is the word.
Community is the word.
Due to lack of general Newcastle news so far today, I can think of no better time the present to make you all aware of the developments that have been going on behind the scenes.

That is not to say that the developments that are ongoing aren’t of importance, of course they are, but here at NUFCBlog.org it’s more a case of Newcastle United, first and foremost.

As well as bringing you the latest on all things Newcastle and giving you all a platform for debate, some of which can be quite tasty at times, both myself and Workyticket have been busy with other stuff for this place. You’ll be able to see some of it with your own eyes, whilst some of it may not be so obvious at first glance. Let’s just say that ‘community’ is the keyword. (more…)
