Newcastle United v Wolves match highlights and post match interviews.

Posted on April 2nd, 2011 | 14 Comments |

Highights of the game, with goals from Nolan, Ameobi, Lovenkrands and Gutierrez for Newcastle United, and a consolation goal for Wolves’ Sylvan Ebanks-Blake.

Alan Pardew hails Newcastle United’s “great day”, which will lift the pressure somewhat in the final games of the season. He also singles out Joey Barton and Shola Ameobi for special praise after their excellent performances on the day.

Wolves manager, Mick McCarthy (rightly) bemoans Wolves’ woeful defensive performance, especially Nolan’s first goal, and also some missed chances at the other end in what he describes as a “bad day at the office”.

  1. credit to AP…he looks a a lot more relaxed in this interview. Some top class goals today, congrats to Kevin Nolan for the first goal, he covered 100m in 8 seconds !!

Howay the lads !!! Great performance with a half strength team…the points are mega important !

  2. Hey worky,
don’t know if you’ve done another match report mate,
but i’ve submitted one, if you need it.

    Whey hey!
    Great 3 points today.
Good to great performances all round, even the most cynical have to be happy with that.

    Get in!

    :)

  3. You’re mate was a bit harsh on Simpson, Guthrie & Harper like, i reckon everyone deserved a 7 today at least.
    ;)

  4. Took the bull by the horns today and kicked a piece of 4rse. Just what the doctor ordered. Totally wiped away the Stoke result and restored the Goal diff.
One can only assume that the linesman was asleep when Lover was given the freedom of the city prior to the third, but who gives a sh!t. Another outfit got totally demolished at the Cathedral on the Hill !!!
Can,t see anything to worry the lads at Villa next week and lets nopt forget, we owe them a big one ! Nows not the time to slip up me hearty,s, One True Faith, HWTL.

  5. I thought young Fergie had a solid start. He hardly got a mention during the game which means to me that he was just doing his job very well. He,s one of the few bright sparks that we have glowing away at the back fo the hearth which will doubtless burst into flames sometime next season. We seem to have an abundance of good stuff coming through and it looks good for the future. I see the Bin Scratchers are sniffing around again so listen Mike, Pleeeeeeese tie down Jose and Joey before the problems arise again.
Please excuse the poetic bollox, but those were three very good points yesterday. Cmon you Mags.

  6. Wo-Ho, some camera evidence against the cabbage-patch-kid foul mouthing again. What,s the chances ? None cos he,s Manure.

  7. Really top display…..Credit to Alan Pardew. We might yet become Alan Pardew’s Black & White Army!
Interesting now the pressure is off they can express themselves without fear…

Glad to hear that you enjoyed it london wolf, despite the result. I do hope that Wolves stay up too. This is possibly due to the fact that I grew up, and started getting into football in the ‘Seventies, when Wolves were one of the big teams who seemed to “belong” as a permanent fixture in the top tier of English football. I still see them that way.
